Although this album remains signature VINTERSORG, there are also many new and experimental elements that appear within the margins of "Cosmic Genesis". As the title may perhaps indicate, there are several electronic tinkerings to be found, but not to be scoffed at. The mere mention of the word "electronic" can send some thrashers into a fit of disgust, but let me assure you that the select passages are done so in good taste, and even contribute a great deal in conjunction with the theme of the album.
But as I've said here, the album is undoubtedly and naturally VINTERSORG. The folk-inspired writing is ever present, as is the mirror-like Black Metal-flip side which contrasts, yet coincides with the musical variety that every VINTERSORG-fan has come to expect.
One thing I have really come to enjoy about VINTERSORG, is their sound and production. Instead of going for the easy kill with heavy as Devy, crunchy as the Cap'n production, VINTERSORG opt for more of an old school-rock/hard rock-tone. Some more sustain would have been nice, but the sound in general comes across as quite stripped down, and natural. To me, that's what VINTERSORG is all about.
Oh, and before I forget (as if!), Vintersorg's (the man) vocals are ~censored~ amazing! I don't know how, but he managed to improve a great deal from the terrific job he did on "?demarkens Son". Everyone has heard great vocalists in Metal before, but this guy sings with an unrivaled passion. That's not to say he's better than every vocalist out there, but it certainly sounds as if he sings more so from the heart than anyone I've heard behind the mic.
Fade to Black: Great album for those who enjoy quality and craftsmanship. Everything from the artwork to the core of the CD is worth any serious thrasher's attention.

However, the second listen surprised me as I started to "get" the album. And with each listen, more and more layers were/are revealed. It is also clear that Mr.V has taken some influence from his time spent with BORKNAGAR ("Universums Dunkla Alfabet", "The Explorer"), however, I would not call this BORKNAGAR II, as some seem to be saying.
Vintersorg's voice has expanded on each and every album. And this one is no exception. His range is the largest it's ever been; yet he can still growl with the best of 'em. He's still testing the limits of his vocal chords, which can be a blessing as well as a curse, as it takes some real patience to swallow parts like the opening of "ESP Mirage."
"Visions From The Spiral Generator" does not top "Cosmic Genesis", but then again, I did not expect it to. But this album comes in at a close second, and that's fine with me. (Online September 28, 2002)

The bands pilgrimage to find new sounds continues, so brace yourself for this one cause the music is even more ~censored~ up but also has better structures within the songs, not so damn vibrating if you like.
Having an intro and one outro immediately adds a more rational level of structure to the album. The album has a more sedative atmosphere, songs like ?The Essence?, ?A Sphere In A Sphere (To Infinity)? and ?A Microscopical Macrocosm? have plenty of acoustic guitars and other warm touches, which definitely allows you to sit back and enjoy the music. ?Curtains? is nothing but a misleading song title; definitely the weirdest thing on the album, so weird it makes me wonder if VINTERSORG?s mental condition is all that well he he.
Like the previous album ?The Focusing Blur? has some outstanding musicians; taking part in VINTERSORG?s new vision are Steve DiGiorgio on the bass and BORKNAGAR?s drum machine Asgeir Mickelson, both doing their jobs flawlessly.
I was very sceptic at first (even after hearing the samples); with all the activities in Mr. Hedlund?s life (HAVAYOTH, ION VEIN, FISSION, BORKNAGAR and countless other projects) you damn well should suspect a rushed product, but I guess the man has been extremely ?focused? when making the album, you can hear there?s an artist at work here.
On their way of making a sound that truly is special and less Black Metal with each release, the band has captured me with a profound grip of Progressive Metal known as ?The Focusing Blur?, get this if you?re into SOLEFALD, BORKNAGAR and other Avant-garde Metal explorers. (Online February 26, 2004)

The high number of breaks may disturb some listeners, but the abrupt passages from violent shouts to acoustic guitars are what make their music so exciting. More conventional are the pure prog metal tracks Att Bygga En Ruin and Fran Materia Till Ande, and the classic and calmer folk metal songs Stralar and Vad Aftonvindens Andning Viskar.
The lyrical concept of Solens R?tter is the relationship between nature, mankind and the cosmos. The guy on the album cover is not Gambrinus from the Battin beer bottles, but an alchemist trying to keep equilibrium between the the aforementioned forces. Solens R?tter is a creative and innovative album that makes you always discover other elements. And that?s what makes a good album.

I own the expension-pack and can't get it to work!?

Try this:
Delete everything from fsx
Install fsx > instal sp1
Crack fsx/sp1
Install acceleration
Crack acceleration
Install this plane

Make sure you have no other emulation software installed such as CloneCD, Alcohol 120% etc.
First try:
1. Uninstall Daemon-tools and make sure the folder is also removed.
2. Download the newest version here:http://forum.daemon-tools.cc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5
3. Restart before installing.
4. Install and restart if promoted.
5. Now, without running YASU, start daemon-tools and enable 1 drive.
6. Mount the 747 image and if the setup doesn't automatically starts, well you know what to do.
7. See if it works.
If this doesn't work:
1. run regedit.exe
2. Goto: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices
3. Right-click the folder and choose export.
4. Name it what you want. (now we have backup of the folder)
5. Delete all content in the folder.
6. Restart pc
7. If everything seems to work fine open-up daemon-tools and try again, to mount the 747 image.
If it still doesn't work, try it all again, but this time also use YASU. But YASU shouldn't be necessary with the newer versions of
daemon-tools.

DESCRIPTION :
Left 4 Dead puts four human playable or AI controlled survivors of an apocalyptic pandemic against hordes of aggressive "Infected" zombies in a cinematic backdrop in which the players star as each character in a fictional movie. The Survivors' goal is to help each other make it through various scenarios to safety. The Infected are controlled by an AI that dynamically balances difficulty and mood depending on the players' progress and situation. In an alternate game mode, human players can control up to four different monsters with special abilities and cooperate to stop the Survivor players.
It was released on November 18, 2008 in the United States and November 21, 2008 in Europe to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the release of Half-Life. A five-minute trailer was released on Halloween. A playable demo was made available on November 6 for pre-purchasers and on November 11 for the general public. The playable demo was closed on November 18, 2008. The demo contained the first one and a half out of five maps of the "No Mercy" campaign and was playable in both single player and multi-player. Left 4 Dead went gold on November 13, 2008.
